Hormone Replacement Therapy is not for everyone. It is particularly beneficial for men who are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, such as:

Why Testosterone Drops

Testosterone falls slowly with age, roughly 1% a year from the mid-30s. Larger drops can come from excess weight, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, opioid or steroid use, injury to the testicles, or problems with the pituitary gland. Some of these can be treated directly, which may raise testosterone without hormone therapy.

Treatment Options

Option What it is Good to know
Testosterone replacement (TRT) Prescription testosterone by weekly injection or pellets placed under the skin. The standard treatment for confirmed low testosterone. Lowers sperm production.
Enclomiphene A daily tablet that prompts your body to make more of its own testosterone. Keeps sperm production going. Prescribed as a compounded medication.
hCG An injection that stimulates the testicles. Sometimes used with or instead of TRT to support fertility.
Anastrozole A tablet that lowers estrogen. Used only in selected cases when estrogen is high on blood tests. Not routine.

Your provider will recommend an option based on your lab results, whether you want children, and your health history.

How it works

Free 15-minute phone consultation.

Lab testing. You choose where: at our clinic, at a Quest Diagnostics location near you, or with a mobile phlebotomist who comes to your home or office. We check testosterone on two separate mornings, plus blood count, PSA and related hormones.

Results and plan. A Florida-licensed provider explains your results. If your hormones are normal, we will tell you, and suggest what else to look into.

Treatment. Medication ships to your Florida address. Pellets are placed at our clinic.

Monitoring. We retest at 90 days and at 6 months, then every 12 months.

What to Expect

With confirmed low testosterone, treatment commonly improves sex drive, energy, mood and muscle mass over several weeks to months. It is not an anti-aging treatment, and it does not help men whose levels are already normal. All hormone treatments have risks, which differ by option. The TRT page covers them in detail.
